Vacuum Forming, Custom Vacuum Thermoforming
Yixing Plastics can provide product mold design and manufacturing engineering assistance in vacuum forming and plastic injection. Yixing Plastics is ISO 9001 registered, with many years of plastics experience and extensive technical expertise in vacuum thermoforming.
What is Vacuum Thermoforming?
Vacuum forming is a process that a sheet of plastic is heated to a desired temperature to become soft, and then put it on to a mold full with holes, using vacuum and pressure, formed into a designed part. The vacuum forming process can be used to make a large quantity of products such as product packaging, speaker casings, diagnostic equipment, car dashboards and so on. vacuum forming parts are used to replace fabricated sheet metal components with complex shapes requiring excessive welding, grinding and finishing operations.
Why Use Vacuum Forming?
Vacuum thermoforming has advantages over other plastic production methods.
Here are some potential benefits that would make vacuum forming a good choice for your plastic part:
§ Large parts or multi-part uses
§ Moderate annual volumes
§ Tight tooling budget
§ Rapid product development
Typical Applications for Vacuum Forming
Thick plate Vacuum thermoforming
Thick plate Vacuum thermoforming parts are always used to replace fabricated sheet metal components with complex shapes, requiring excessive welding and other finishing operations. Thick plate Vacuum thermoforming are more cheaper than the sheet metal parts. Custom vacuum formed parts compete very favorably against FRP (fiber-reinforced plastics) and RTM (resin transfer molded) parts in moderate (250 – 3000) annual production volumes. The unit cost are more attractive .
We currently uses vacuum forming to make plastic components such as:
§ Enclosures for medical equipment
§ Engine covers for farm equipment
§ outdoor parts.
